Meet Dr. Lucinda K. Bunting
A native of lower Sussex County, Delaware, Dr. Bunting graduated from Indian River High School in 1982 and went on to receive a Bachelors in Biology from the University of Delaware. Acting upon the advice of her hometown dentist, she pursued her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Temple University School of Dentistry. While at Temple, she distinguished herself as a tutor for fellow dental students, as a pre-clinical instructor in Restorative Dentistry, and as one of few selected for membership into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.
Upon completion of a dental residency at Wilmington Hospital, Dr. Bunting began practice in lower Delaware and founded Diamond State Dentistry in 2003. She has remained actively involved in organized dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Kent/Sussex Dental Society and has held leadership roles in their local chapters. She served on the Delaware State Board of Dentistry and Dental Hygiene and has been featured in DELAWARE TODAY magazine many times as one of the Top Dentists in Delaware.
Since Dr. Bunting and her husband became aware that their son had autism, she has also been very active in autism advocacy and fundraising for groups such as Autism Delaware and has promoted access and awareness within the Diamond State Dentistry team. She, her husband, and son live on a farm in Greenwood and enjoy quiet summers on the Delaware Bay in their cottage in Slaughter Beach.
