Meet The Staff

Heather Rider
Office Manager
Heather was born and raised in Seaford, Delaware. She graduated from Seaford High School in 1994 and currently resides with her husband on their family farm in Laurel. She joined Dr. Bunting’s practice in Georgetown in 1998 as her dental assistant and became her office manager in 2001. Heather helped to establish this practice with Dr. Bunting in 2003. Heather runs the day-to-day operations at Diamond State Dentistry. Her knowledge of dentistry combined with her years of experience are invaluable!

Andrea Forey, RDH
Hygienist
Drea was born and raised in Felton, Delaware. She is a 2011 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School. Her mother, who is a nurse practitioner, inspired her to become a healthcare provider. Drea graduated Cum Laude in 2016 from Delaware Technical and Community College and joined Diamond State Dentistry later that summer. When Drea isn’t practicing hygiene, she is busy at home with her husband and their growing family.

Lacey Moffett, RDH
Hygienist
Lacey was born and raised in Milford, Delaware. She graduated from Milford High School in 2004. She always wanted to be an oral healthcare provider and realized her goal of becoming a hygienist when she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Delaware Technical and Community College in 2016. Lacey also received the Outstanding Clinician Award for her class. She joined Diamond State Dentistry in the beginning of 2018. When Lacey isn’t cleaning teeth, you can find her with a fishing pole in her hand!

Melinda Troutman, RDH
Hygienist
Melinda was raised in Delaware City and studied dental assisting in high school. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Delaware Technical and Community College with a degree in Dental Hygiene and received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award in 1993. In 2002, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in General Studies and a Certification in Training and Development from Wilmington University. Since 2013, she has filled in at Diamond State Dentistry, but as of the summer of 2020, started treating patients here on a regular basis.

Zara Collison, RDH
Hygienist
Zara graduated from Lake Forest High School in 2017 and subsequently pursued a degree in Biomedical Science from Lynchburg College. She spent many hours shadowing the hygienists of Diamond State Dentistry before attending Delaware Technical Community College. Zara graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2023 and received the Outstanding Dental Hygiene Student Award for her class. She joined Diamond State Dentistry in the spring of 2023.

Karen Scarangella, RDH
Hygienist
Karen is originally from Park Ridge, New Jersey, but moved to Delaware in 1989. She obtained her dental hygiene degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985. Since then Karen has worked as a dental hygienist primarily in periodontal offices. In 2018 Karen started filling in here at Diamond State Dentistry, but as of 2025 Karen joined here full time. Karen and her husband reside in Milford and have four children together. When she isn’t cleaning teeth she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and grandson!

Amber Spencer, RDH
Hygienist
Amber is a Delaware native who graduated from Caesar Rodney High School and earned her Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene, graduating Cum Laude and as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society from Delaware Technical and Community College. She is passionate about making every patient feel comfortable while providing personalized care and education tailored to each individual’s dental journey. Outside the office, Amber enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and her three French bulldogs.

Amanda Watson, RDH
Hygienist
Amanda was born and raised in Milford, Delaware. She graduated from Milford High School in 2008. Amanda graduated Cum Laude in 2013 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science of Dental Hygiene and received the Outstanding Clinician Award for her class. She joined Diamond State Dentistry in the fall of 2013 and worked full time until August 2024. She now fills in as a hygienist when she can as she currently teaches the Health Science program to 7th and 8th graders at Milford Academy.

Sheri Messick
Financial Administrator
Sheri was born in Milford and raised in Greenwood. She graduated from Milford High School in 2001. She joined the practice in 2007. Sheri will help you understand your insurance coverage and file dental claims on your behalf. She files predeterminations with insurance companies, when requested, so that coverage for proposed treatments is known prior to appointments. Sheri answers calls, handles billing and insurance questions, and provides treatment plan estimates to patients all with a smile!

Michelle Gualillo
Scheduler/Greeter
Michelle became a Certified Dental Assistant in 1982. In Delaware since 1984, she has worked in multiple fields of dentistry and with Dr. Bunting in Dover from 1992-1997. She has been with this practice since it was opened in 2003. Michelle works very hard to provide patients appointment times for cleanings that work with their schedule. She loves to talk and is one of the first faces you see when you come to our office!

Amy VanGorder
Greeter/Administrative Assistant
Amy was born and raised in nearby Chestertown, Maryland, and became a resident of Delaware in 2000. She joined Diamond State Dentistry in March 2020. Amy started out as a greeter, but has learned many roles since at the front desk. She spends countless hours working with insurances, answering phones, acquiring patients’ previous dental records, and much more. Amy always has a smile on her face and has impressed us and our patients with her unflappable optimism and grace all while working under pressure!

Shelby Burgos
Scheduler
Shelby was born and raised in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 2017. She joined Diamond State Dentistry in the summer of 2020. Shelby helps with insurance claims and eligibility, answers phone calls, and schedules appointments with the doctors. Shelby also helps patients understand their upcoming procedures by answering any questions they may have. Shelby excels at coordinating treatment and will help patients schedule appointments with specialists offices if and when referred. She currently resides in Lincoln with her family.

Amber Kendzierski
Dental Assistant
Amber has lived in Milford, Delaware since she was three years old and is a 2001 graduate of Milford High School. Amber started with Dr. Bunting as a babysitter for her son. She had been an assistant for Dr. Bunting since August 2002 and helped set up this practice in August 2003. She is currently the primary assistant to Dr. Bunting.

Shannon Graham
Dental Assistant
Shannon grew up in Dover, Delaware. She found she had an interest in dentistry as a pediatric patient of Dr. Quinn and loved the idea that dentists gave people their smiles back! Subsequently, she took dental assisting at Polytech High School and graduated in 2002 and has been assisting ever since. She joined Diamond State Dentistry in 2015 and is the primary assistant to Dr. Sels.

Charlye Gagnon
Dental Assistant
Charlye was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended Spartanburg Methodist College on a full tennis scholarship. She started as a dental assistant in 1997 and has a wealth of dental knowledge! Charlye moved to Felton in 2014 and joined Diamond State Dentistry in 2016. She is the primary assistant to Dr. Puddicombe and is known for her sweet southern charm!

Madison Johnson
Dental Assistant
Madison grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 2016. While a patient of Diamond State Dentistry, she realized she had a passion for dentistry. She obtained an Assisting Certificate from Polytech and joined the practice in the summer of 2020. You can find Madison performing ZOOM! whitening treatments on patients when she isn’t assisting Dr. Asadpour.

Christina Kimmel
Dental Assistant
Christina was born and raised in Milford. She graduated from Milford High School in 2020. She discovered a passion for dentistry as a patient at Diamond State Dentistry and figures it runs in her blood since she is the granddaughter of the late Milford dentist, Dr. Bud Kimmel! Christina joined the practice in the fall of 2021 and is the primary assistant to Dr. Shindell. She is currently enrolled at Delaware Technical and Community College and is studying to become a dental hygienist.

Nicole Sexton
Dental Assistant/Greeter
Nicole and her family moved to Dover Air Force Base in 1996. She attended Polytech and graduated as a certified dental assistant in 2006. She was a dental assistant and receptionist for 9 years and then took a break to raise her family. Nicole is compassionate and caring and when she rejoined the work force she felt as if Diamond State Dentistry was the right fit for her. She joined in the fall of 2023 and is cross trained as both a dental assistant and greeter.

Brooklyn Calhoun
Hygiene Assistant
Brooklyn was born and raised in Milford. She attends Sussex Tech High School and is expected to graduate in June 2026. She is currently dual enrolled at Delaware Technical Community college and has aspirations of becoming a dental hygienist. She started here in the summer of 2025 to gain more knowledge in the dental field. You can find Brooklyn helping the hygienists around the office and is always ready to pitch in!
