Meet Dr. Mara E. Shindell

Dr. Shindell was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009 with a major in cell biology and molecular genetics and a minor in French studies. Dr. Shindell spent the next two years working for the Department of Defense assisting research projects on traumatic brain injury in Bethesda, MD. She then moved up to Baltimore and completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2015. After graduation she moved to Toledo, OH to complete an Advanced Education In General Dentistry Residency program. Dr. Shindell has been practicing general dentistry in private practice since then, first in New Mexico and then back here on the eastern shore. Dr. Shindell is an active member of the American Dental Association and Maryland State Dental Association. She is the secretary of the Eastern Shore Dental Society, president of the Cambridge Dental Study Club and has been featured in DELAWARE TODAY magazine multiple times as one of the Top Dentists in Delaware. In 2022, after obtaining many hours of continuing dental education hours and passing a rigorous and comprehensive exam, she achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. She resides in Wilmington with her family and enjoys spending time outdoors with them at the park, biking and watching live music.
